Hood was a lifelong member of the Church of the Holy Trinity, where he also served as a member of the vestry. He is survived by his son, William Allen Hood II (Holley), his sister, Angie Miller (Don), and his granddaughter, Kate Hood. A memorial service to honor Hood’s life and legacy is scheduled for June 27, 2025, at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Holy Trinity. Prior to the service, visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the church parish hall, providing an opportunity for friends and family to pay their respects.

In lieu of flowers, Hood’s family requests that donations be made to The Caroline McCollum Simrall Hood Memorial Scholarship at the University of Mississippi. Donations can also be sent to the Church of the Holy Trinity. Those wishing to contribute to the scholarship can make checks payable to the University of Mississippi Foundation, with the fund’s name noted in the memo line, and send them to 406 University Ave., Oxford, MS 38655.
