Ole Miss Rebels Celebrate Nine Players Selected for 2024 All-SEC Teams

Exciting Honors for Ole Miss Rebels Players in All-SEC Team Selection

Oxford, Mississippi – Although the Ole Miss Rebels didn’t quite make it to the College Football Playoff this season, the team certainly had some standout players worthy of recognition. The celebration began as the Southeastern Conference (SEC) office announced its 2024 All-SEC teams earlier this week, showcasing the talent of players from across the league. And guess what? Nine Rebels made the cut, marking them as one of the top contenders among member schools. Only Georgia surpassed them with 13 players honored.

First Team Accolades

Leading the pack for Ole Miss on the prestigious First Team All-SEC lineup is quarterback Jaxson Dart. Dart shone in the spotlight this season, finishing strong with a career-high completion percentage of 68.6%, racking up an impressive 3,875 passing yards and an eye-popping 25 touchdowns along with just six interceptions. His passer rating of 177.7 places him as one of the top QBs in the Football Bowl Subdivision, second only to Indiana’s Kurtis Rouke.

Joining Dart in the First Team selections are three new faces in Oxford, all of whom hopped on board the Rebels via the transfer portal. Walter Nolen, a former Texas A&M Aggie, showcased his skills effectively with 48 total tackles—25 solo, alongside 14 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks. Princely Umanmielen, previously with the Florida Gators, contributed significantly as well, boasting 13 tackles for loss and an impressive 10.5 sacks. Lastly, Trey Amos brought in some defensive flair from the Alabama Crimson Tide, making headlines with three interceptions and 47 tackles to his name.

Second and Third Team Standouts

Moving on to the Second Team All-SEC, we have linebacker Chris “Pooh” Paul earning his well-deserved spot. His presence on the field has been crucial throughout the season, proving his mettle in contested plays.

Additionally, the Third Team All-SEC roster includes Tre Harris (WR), Jared Ivey, Suntarine Perkins, and JJ Pegues, all of whom have made significant contributions to the team’s success this year. The diversity in talents reflecting on these teams showcases how Ole Miss is rich in skilled players and deep in talent.

Looking Ahead

Thanks to these remarkable players and their efforts throughout the regular season, the Ole Miss Rebels found themselves with a commendable nine wins. As they prepare to face off against the Duke Blue Devils in the Gator Bowl on January 2, the excitement among fans is palpable. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. CT, so mark your calendars and get ready for a thrilling matchup airing on ESPN!

It’s clear that even without a berth in the College Football Playoff, the Ole Miss Rebels are a force to be reckoned with. With nine players recognized in the All-SEC selections, the talent, resilience, and determination of this team showcase a bright future ahead. Here’s to hoping they give their all in the upcoming bowl game and continue to soar even higher!
