Lafayette to Host 10th Annual Night for Nonprofits on August 12

The 10th Annual Night for Nonprofits is set to take place at the Powerhouse Community Arts Center in Lafayette on August 12 at 6 p.m. This event, hosted by the Lafayette Oxford Foundation for Tomorrow (LOFT), celebrates the vital contributions of local nonprofits to the community and showcases innovative projects aligned with LOFT’s core pillars, which include education, health and human services, arts and culture, community improvement, and municipal support.

This year, the Night for Nonprofits will allow a variety of organizations to present their initiatives, with the aim of securing community support to enhance their impact. Among the participating organizations is Doors of Hope, led by Executive Director Mary Margaret Andrews, who has expressed enthusiasm for the opportunity to highlight their project, which is dedicated to keeping families housed in Lafayette County.

The event will not only provide a platform for nonprofits but also includes a competitive element. Several awards will be presented, including a $5,000 Crowd Favorite Award, determined by live voting from attendees, a $5,000 Chance to Shine Raffle, and a $500 Board Member Engagement Award for organizations that achieve at least 50% board member attendance.

Tickets for the Night for Nonprofits are priced at $20, while children aged 10 and under can attend for free. Guests will also be treated to a keynote address by editorial cartoonist Marshall Ramsey.
