Hunter Elliott Wins Historic Gold Glove Award

Oxford, MS – Hunter Elliott has made history by winning the 2025 NCAA Division I Rawlings Gold Glove Award for pitchers, the first Ole Miss pitcher to receive this prestigious accolade. Announced on Wednesday, Elliott’s achievement places him among a select group of players; he is only the third Ole Miss athlete ever to be awarded a Gold Glove, following in the footsteps of former catchers Hayden Dunhurst (2021) and Stuart Turner (2013).

Elliott’s recognition comes after a remarkable season where he made 16 starts in his role as a pitcher, finishing with a record of 10 wins and 3 losses. He also posted an impressive 2.94 earned run average (ERA), which is noteworthy as it is the lowest for an Ole Miss pitcher since he recorded a 2.70 ERA during his freshman year in 2022. In addition to this, he struck out 102 batters throughout the season, tying for 36th in the nation and becoming the fifth pitcher in the school’s history to achieve a season with at least 10 wins and 100 strikeouts.

Hunter Elliott, a redshirt junior, made a triumphant return to the mound after nearly two years of recovery from Tommy John surgery, which he underwent in May 2023. His significant comeback played a vital role in Ole Miss’s return to the NCAA Tournament in 2025, ending a two-year absence.
