12th Annual BSU Gala
Mark your calendars for February 21, when the BSU will host its 12th Annual Gala at the Ole Miss Inn from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. This year’s theme, “A New Dawn: Cultural Revival,” highlights the ongoing push for Black excellence while celebrating the rich heritage of the Black community. Guests can look forward to exciting live performances, awards, and of course, delicious food!
Game Night Fun!
Another fun event on the BSU’s agenda is a game night happening on February 26 in Suite F of the student union. This event, in collaboration with the Center for Inclusion and Cross-Cultural Engagement, is designed to create a laid-back atmosphere where students can relax, interact, and enjoy some friendly competition.

Additionally, the NABJ is launching a biweekly newsletter called “In Full Color,” aiming to feature engaging articles about Black student organizations, entrepreneurship, and vital political commentary. It’s all about keeping our community informed and entertained!
NAACP Week Celebration
The university’s chapter of the NAACP is also stepping up with community engagement events set for February 10-14. This includes the highly anticipated “Buy the Block” pop-up shop event on February 10 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Student Union Ballroom. This event will spotlight small Black-owned businesses while featuring live performances, making it a vital celebration of entrepreneurship.
Celebrating Black Musicians
As the month continues, mark your calendars for the annual Black History Month concert on February 25 at 7:30 p.m. at the Ford Center. This year’s guest artist, Angela Brown, will grace the stage, and the concert will not only honor the contributions of Black musicians but also feature performances from various ensembles led by UM Music Professor George W.K. Dor. Best of all? It’s absolutely free to attend!
