OXFORD, Miss. — Ole Miss volleyball plays its last home match of the season Sunday afternoon in Oxford, hosting an Arkansas team that arrives on a 2-1 run.
First serve is set for 2 p.m. Central. The Rebels sit at eight wins and 14 losses, but home has been kind to them: six of the eight victories came in Oxford, including an SEC win over Missouri. The building has also been tough on the Razorbacks lately, with four of Arkansas’ last five trips to Oxford stretching to at least four sets.
Early sets have been the Rebels’ problem. They have won just 14 of 46 opening and second sets this fall, compared with 17 of 38 from the third set on. Serving may also be worth watching. The Rebels are 7-0 when they serve at least seven aces and 1-15 when they do not, and they rank tied for eighth in the SEC with 1.35 aces per set.
Libero Cameron Bradley leads the league at 4.93 digs per set, a mark that also sits among the top 10 nationally, even after injuries kept her out of some matches. Sophomore Bella Bonanno filled in with consecutive career highs of 18 digs against South Carolina and 20 at Auburn. Melia Johnson put down nine kills without an error on 16 swings against Oklahoma, and freshman Coco Natarajan led the team in assists against LSU.
The Razorbacks come in at 12-11, including 4-8 against SEC teams. Arkansas beat Oklahoma 3-1 at home, lost 3-0 at Florida and won 3-1 at LSU in their last three matches. Sunday is their final road match of the regular season and their third away date in a week.
