OXFORD, Miss. — Ole Miss volleyball welcomes LSU to the Gillom Center in Oxford on Sunday afternoon, with first serve set for 2 p.m. Central in the second match of a four-match Rebels homestand.
The Rebels come in at 8-13 overall and 2-8 in SEC play. LSU is 9-10 and 4-6 in the league after taking its first SEC road win of the year, 3-1 at Auburn.
This series has a habit of going the distance. Five of the last seven meetings have needed a fifth set. LSU holds a 60-25 edge all time and is 24-12 in Oxford, but the Tigers have not won on the Rebels home floor since 2021. Ole Miss knocked LSU out in the first round of last season SEC Tournament.
Ole Miss has been a late-match team. Through the season the Rebels have gone 14-28 in opening and second sets, compared with a 17-19 mark once a match reaches the third set or later.
Serving could swing it. Ole Miss is 7-0 when it records at least seven aces and 1-13 otherwise, and setter Vivianna Samaniego sits ninth in the league at 0.38 aces per set in conference play. The Rebels have given up more aces than any SEC team, though LSU ranks last in the conference in aces.
Libero Cameron Bradley leads the SEC at 4.93 digs per set. Sophomore Bella Bonanno filled in during Bradley absences with career highs of 18 digs against South Carolina and 20 at Auburn.
LSU leans on outside hitter Jurnee Robinson, who averages 4.92 kills per set and has 10 double-doubles. Setter Martina Villani averages 8.74 assists per set.
For LSU, freshman libero Kiley Brooks leads the back row at 3.99 digs per set, and middle blocker Jessica Jones tops the Tigers with 64 blocks.
The match streams on SEC Network+.
