Jett Goldsberry Commits to Ole Miss Football Program

Football player showcasing athleticism on the field

News Summary

Jett Goldsberry, a standout three-star athlete from Heritage Hills High School, has committed to the Ole Miss football program. His decision, announced during a ceremony in his school auditorium, follows considerations of six college offers, with Ole Miss emerging as his top choice due to its quality coaching and welcoming atmosphere. Goldsberry’s impressive high school career includes leading his team to a state championship and his plans to transition to college football in January as a defensive back.

Lincoln City, Indiana — Jett Goldsberry, a three-star athlete and standout player from Heritage Hills High School, has officially committed to the Ole Miss football program as of July 7. The decision was announced during a commitment ceremony in the auditorium of his high school, marking a significant step in Goldsberry’s athletic career.

Goldsberry, who had been considering six finalists for his college choice—Ole Miss, Purdue, Rutgers, West Virginia, Wake Forest, and North Carolina—expressed a strong admiration for Ole Miss, highlighting its reputation as a “top-notch” school with quality coaching staff. His interest in the program intensified following an unofficial visit to Oxford in April, where he enjoyed the welcoming small-town atmosphere. A subsequent official visit in June solidified his decision to commit to the Rebels.

As a preseason contender for the 2025 Indiana Mr. Football award, Goldsberry is recognized as one of the premier college prospects in Indiana. Rivals and 247Sports have labeled him as a three-star recruit. During his most recent high school season, Goldsberry led Heritage Hills to a Class 3A state championship, delivering remarkable statistics that included 1,807 passing yards, 26 touchdowns, 1,676 rushing yards, and 28 rushing touchdowns.

Goldsberry’s commitment stems from his goal to develop his skills further, aiming for early playing time in his junior year to attract attention from professional NFL scouts. He plans to enroll early at Ole Miss in January, which he believes will facilitate a smoother transition to college football.

Projecting to play defensive back at the collegiate level, Goldsberry had an impressive junior season, recording 58 tackles, 2.5 sacks, one interception, and one forced fumble. Ole Miss intends to enhance his coverage skills and consider his contributions to special teams, while also exploring potential roles on the offensive side of the ball.

Despite not receiving Division I offers prior to January, his athletic versatility has caught the attention of several Power Four programs. Currently, Goldsberry is rated as the No. 6 prospect in Indiana, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. His high school coach commended Goldsberry’s exceptional ability to handle both offensive and defensive roles effectively on the field.

Looking forward, Heritage Hills is anticipated to be a formidable contender in Class 4A this upcoming season, significantly bolstered by Goldsberry’s contributions. Since taking on the quarterback position in his freshman year, Goldsberry has solidified his status as one of the top players in Southwestern Indiana. His record with the team includes ranking third in career rushing yards, second in career passing yards, and first in rushing touchdowns.

Goldsberry comes from an athletic family; his father, Jon, played linebacker/fullback at Purdue University before embarking on a brief NFL career. This legacy in sports may further fuel Jett’s ambition as he dedicates himself to enhancing both his performance and that of his team as they prepare for the upcoming season.

Heritage Hills will kick off their season with a home game against South Spencer, where Goldsberry’s leadership on the field will be vital as the team aims to build on their previous successes.
